Jamaica Independence Day Celebrations August 2020

For the past 10 years we have been providing free content, now we are asking for your help to raise money to fund a free event on Hellshire Beach celebrating the Jamaican Independence and Emancipation Day on Saturday, 1st August 2020. The Emancipation Day commemorates the anniversary of the abolishment of slavery in Jamaica, while Independence Day celebrates Jamaica's political independence from the United Kingdom. We believe we are the first British company to come and celebrate independence with the people of Jamaica in this way. We feel that it is important to recognise the cultural ties between the UK and Jamaica after 57 years of independence, as well as the abolishment of slavery in 1834.
Jamaica has a rich and vibrant history, that speaks both on the experience of hardship and prosperity, but also the growth and determination of a people. We also want to celebrate the cultural diversity and richness of reggae music and recognise the impact it has had on modern British culture. We would like to give back to the local community of Hellshire as part of this event, by giving the local children back to school stationery packs, including pens, pencil, bags, books, etc. As well as a lucky dip so every child gets a prize, also free ice cream for every child. We would also like to help repair the stage on the beach for all future events, further benefiting the local community.Hellshire Beach is a local community beach with few tourists, mainly visited by local Jamaicans from the area and a culturally recognised place within Reggae music.

We will be collaborating with UK-Jamaican host Rawpa Crawpa and Special Vibes International Sound to put together a great musical line up on the day. We have connected with Ricky Trooper, Black Scorpio, Bunny General, Admiral Tibet, Junior Cat, Burro Banton, Major Mackerel, and many more to perform on the day. We plan to document this event on the Don Sinclair Reggae Vibes  and use the footage to attract sponsors so that we can fund future Jamaican Independence day celebrations and most importantly continue to support the local community. To make successful preparations for this, we would need to raise our funds by February 2020. For the past ten years, we have been broadcasting free content on YouTube and would appreciate your support to help bring this celebration into the real world. If you can make a donation to support us in this celebration, we and the community of Hellshire would be eternally grateful.  We look forward to having you,  your friends and families come along and join us to make this a memorable celebration.
